1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and KnowledgeTack LLC, which operates SuggestionBox.io ("SuggestionBox.io," "we," "us," or "our"). They apply to the SuggestionBox.io website, owner dashboard, hosted suggestion boxes, optional embedded suggestion widget, emails, and related services (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, submitting or interacting with a suggestion, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What SuggestionBox.io provides
SuggestionBox.io provides a hosted place where an owner can add its own product ideas and collect, moderate, organize, and respond to improvements, new features, and bug reports from participants. Owner-created ideas identify the organization as their source. Participants can browse public suggestions and, after email verification when required, submit, express interest, follow, or comment without creating an account.
The private Inbox lets owners collect unfinished thoughts through supported owner, email, API, CLI, and local AI-assistant tools before deciding whether to publish or relate them. Adding an Inbox item does not publish it. The optional embedded website widget creates pending Suggestions that remain out of public view until the owner reviews and approves them. The owner remains responsible for moderation, truthful attribution, and lawful use of submitted material.
An owner may install the widget only on website origins it controls or is authorized to modify. The owner must configure exact allowed origins, follow the installation and Content Security Policy requirements, provide any notice or consent its own website and applicable law require, and must not use the widget deceptively or to collect sensitive information.
SuggestionBox.io is a software provider. We are not the owner of a customer's suggestion box, the maker of the customer's product, or a party to agreements between a box owner and its participants. A status, interest count, or official response is informational and does not promise that an idea will be reviewed, accepted, implemented, or delivered.
The public demo is read-only and illustrative. Actions preview the product but do not create submissions, expressions of interest, comments, accounts, or billing obligations.
3. Eligibility and account security
You must be at least 18 years old, have legal capacity to enter a contract, and be permitted to use the Service under applicable law to create an owner account or purchase a subscription. The Service is not directed to children under 13.
Owners must provide accurate information, protect their login credentials, use a valid email address, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. Participants must protect access to verification links sent to their inboxes and must not forward or share those links. You are responsible for activity under your owner account unless applicable law says otherwise. We may require email or other verification before granting or restoring access.
4. Suggestion box owner responsibilities
A box owner is responsible for:
- its product, company identity, public website, branding, and statements made through official responses;
- providing any privacy notices, consents, and participant terms required for its own use of suggestion information;
- moderating submissions and responding to privacy, intellectual-property, safety, or abuse concerns relating to its box;
- protecting participant email addresses and other private dashboard information from unauthorized use or disclosure;
- protecting Inbox credentials and randomized inbound addresses, promptly revoking access that is lost or shared, and using Inbox integrations only for authorized organization material;
- using suggestion-specific participant communication only to understand, shape, and evaluate the suggestion the participant chose to follow, rather than as a general mailing list; and
- complying with laws that apply to its organization, product, participants, and use of the Service.
Public subdomains are licensed service addresses, not property or proof of trademark rights. An address entered during setup is only a preference and remains available to others until Checkout places a temporary hold on it. Successful payment secures the address while the subscription permits public service. When paid service ends, we may protect a previously active address during the stated recovery period and later release or reassign it after an ownership or rights review. We may reserve, refuse, rename, or disable an address to protect the Service, prevent impersonation, resolve rights claims, or reduce confusion. Old addresses can stop working without a redirect, and old suggestion links do not transfer customer content to a later address holder.
5. Participant interactions
Participants do not need an account, but we may require a valid email address and magic-link verification before counting their interest or publishing a suggestion or comment. A signed cookie may remember a verified participant for that specific owner's box.
The remembered participant identity is stored in a signed cookie limited to the current owner's suggestion box. It does not create a public username, profile, identity, reputation, cross-box history, or cross-device account. Clearing that cookie requires the participant to verify a later protected interaction again.
Expressing interest and following are separate choices. Interest records that a participant shares a need. Choosing Follow this suggestion separately permits the owner to send private updates, proposals, questions, early-version requests, and solved checks about that suggestion. Participants may stop following at any time through the provided link. Private response links are personal and must not be shared.
Participants must provide accurate contact information they are authorized to use. One person may not use multiple addresses, automation, or other methods to manipulate interest counts, evade limits, impersonate another person, or create a false impression of customer demand.
Owners can hold submissions for approval, hide content, mark content as spam, pause new suggestions, or make a box private. Moderation decisions belong to the box owner unless we intervene to enforce these Terms or protect the Service.
6. Content, ownership, and idea use
You retain ownership of original content you submit. You grant SuggestionBox.io a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, format, display, and otherwise process that content as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service.
When you submit content to a customer's suggestion box, you also authorize us to provide it to that box owner and, when the box settings permit, display it publicly. Suggestions are not confidential. You grant the box owner a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to review, use, reproduce, modify, and implement the ideas in the submission without payment or obligation to you. This license does not transfer ownership of your original copyrighted expression.
Material placed in an owner's private Inbox remains private source material even if the owner later turns it into a suggestion. Only the separately reviewed public suggestion copy is published. A website-widget submission is stored as a pending Suggestion; its original body, source page, email, and permission choices remain private Source details even if the owner later publishes an edited Suggestion. An owner may permanently delete an unprocessed Inbox item and may moderate a pending widget Suggestion under the normal Suggestion moderation controls. Neither path may be used to impersonate a participant, claim public credit without verified explicit permission, or disclose confidential email or source details.
You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content and that it does not violate law or another person's rights. Do not submit secrets, credentials, payment information, regulated data, or material subject to a confidentiality obligation.
If you send ideas specifically about SuggestionBox.io, we may use them without restriction or compensation, but we do not claim ownership of your pre-existing materials.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- break the law, violate sanctions or export restrictions, or facilitate illegal conduct;
- post threats, harassment, hate, sexual exploitation, graphic abuse, fraud, defamation, or content that invades privacy;
- infringe intellectual-property, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights;
- send spam, phishing, malware, deceptive links, or unauthorized commercial messages;
- impersonate a person or organization, squat on a name, or misrepresent affiliation;
- scrape, probe, overload, disrupt, reverse engineer, or bypass security, verification, moderation, or rate limits;
- buy, sell, automate, or otherwise manipulate interest counts or participant activity; or
- use the Service to collect sensitive personal information when the Service is not designed for that purpose.
The paid plan is intended for normal human participation and does not impose automatic usage overages. We may limit automated, abusive, or exceptionally resource-intensive activity that threatens service reliability. When legitimate use creates unusual operational load, we will contact the owner before applying a special limit or proposing a different arrangement, except when immediate action is needed to protect the Service.
Report suspected abuse or rights violations to support@suggestionbox.io. Include the public URL and enough detail for us to evaluate the report.
8. Subscriptions, billing, cancellation, and refunds
Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly at the price and interval shown before you subscribe, plus any applicable tax. Each paid suggestion box requires its own subscription, even when one owner account manages several suggestion boxes. By starting a subscription, you expressly authorize recurring charges to your selected payment method at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
Stripe processes checkout, payment methods, invoices, renewals, and the customer billing portal. SuggestionBox.io does not receive full payment-card numbers entered on Stripe-hosted pages. Stripe's handling of payment information is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy, and Stripe-provided consumer features may be subject to Stripe's Consumer Terms.
You can cancel through the Stripe billing portal available from the Service. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period unless checkout or the portal states otherwise. Canceling prevents future renewals; it does not automatically create a prorated refund or credit for the current period.
If the Service is not useful for you, request a refund of your first subscription payment within 30 days after the initial purchase by emailing support@suggestionbox.io. Renewal payments, later subscription payments, and unused portions of a billing period are otherwise non-refundable except where required by law or where we expressly agree otherwise. Contact support promptly if you believe any charge is incorrect.
Failed or overdue payments may result in a grace period, restricted owner features, or the public suggestion box becoming unavailable.
Each Founder Plan subscription keeps its Founder pricing while it remains continuously active. Switching between monthly and yearly billing does not end that pricing protection. If the subscription is canceled or otherwise ends, any later subscription will use the pricing available at that time. We may change pricing for new subscriptions or future plans, but not the renewal pricing of an active Founder Plan subscription.
9. Moderation, enforcement, and service integrity
We are not required to pre-screen content, but we may investigate, preserve, hide, remove, or disclose content when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, follow law, respond to a rights claim, protect a person, or secure the Service.
We may limit, suspend, or terminate access, prevent new registrations, reserve an address, or take other proportionate action for abuse, nonpayment, security risk, legal exposure, or repeated violations. When practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct the problem, but urgent or serious situations may require immediate action.
A copyright or other rights complaint should identify the protected work, the material at issue and its URL, the complaining party's contact information, and a good-faith explanation of the claimed violation. It must also include a statement that the information is accurate and, when required by law, a physical or electronic signature. We may forward the complaint to the affected owner or participant and may request additional information before acting.
10. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on providers for hosting, storage, email delivery, and payment processing and may link to customer websites or other third-party pages. Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for a customer's product, website, privacy practices, promises, or decisions about a suggestion.
SuggestionBox.io and its logos, software, design, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no platform rights are transferred to you.
11. Privacy and data processing
Our Privacy Policy explains the information we collect, how we use and disclose it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to owners and participants.
When applicable data-protection law treats a box owner as a controller and SuggestionBox.io as its processor or service provider, these Terms and the owner's use and configuration of the Service are its documented instructions to us. We process that information to provide, secure, maintain, and support the Service, or as law requires. If law requires processing outside those instructions, we will notify the owner first unless the law prohibits notice.
We require people authorized to process private information to protect its confidentiality, maintain reasonable security measures, and use subprocessors to perform limited supporting services. Current provider categories and named infrastructure providers are identified in the Privacy Policy. The owner authorizes those subprocessors and may contact us with a reasonable data-protection objection.
Taking into account the nature of the Service and the information available to us, we will provide reasonable assistance with data-subject requests, security obligations, and information needed to assess our compliance. After service ends, we delete or return personal information according to the Privacy Policy and the owner's available product controls, except where law, security, fraud prevention, backups, or a continuing legal claim permits retention. Contact support@suggestionbox.io if applicable law requires a separate data-processing agreement.
12. Termination, cancellation, and data
You may stop using the Service at any time. Owners remain responsible for canceling a paid subscription through the billing portal. Account closure does not automatically reverse charges already incurred.
After a subscription becomes canceled or unpaid, we may make the public box unavailable and keep workspace data for a recovery period. The application assigns a 90-day recovery date, but recovery is not guaranteed and data may be deleted after that period. Some records can remain in backups, logs, billing records, or retained security and legal records.
Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination survive, including payment obligations, content licenses already needed to operate or document the Service, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and general legal terms.
13. Service changes and disclaimers
We may add, change, limit, or discontinue features as the product evolves. We will use reasonable care in operating the Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, delivery of every email, prevention of every abusive submission, or that any suggestion will produce a particular result.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, title, or quiet enjoyment. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
14. Limitation of liability and indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SuggestionBox.io and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunities, or anticipated savings arising from the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to SuggestionBox.io during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) USD $100. These limits do not apply where applicable law prohibits them.
If you use the Service for an organization, that organization will defend and indemnify SuggestionBox.io from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from its content, suggestion box, violation of these Terms, or violation of another person's rights, except to the extent caused by our own unlawful conduct.
15. Disputes, changes, and general terms
Before filing a formal claim, contact support@suggestionbox.io with a description of the dispute and allow 30 days for a good-faith effort to resolve it. Applicable law governs these Terms without depriving a consumer of mandatory protections available where that consumer lives.
We may update these Terms as the Service or law changes. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date, and we will provide additional notice or advance notice when required. If you do not agree to revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel any paid subscription before the changes take effect. Continued use after the revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the Service unless we sign a separate agreement with you. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of the Service.
